Q: Why am I encountering Error Code 0x0800763 when attempting to install/patch?
This error is usually reported when there is a fundamental issue with the Microsoft installer system, often related to some leftover traces of a previous install. Try running through the steps below:
- Head to this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
- Download and run the tool
- Select 'Next'
- Select 'Uninstalling'
- Locate MechWarrior Online in the list
- Click 'Next'
- Select 'Yes, try uninstall'
- Let the process complete, then attempt to install MWO as normal
